Trail Description: The Coast Trail is along an easy fire road that meanders alongside a lush creek for about a mile before entering a wide level lake area of dense forest and rich marsh habitat just before the coast. From here the fire road turns south for about another mile. The wildflowers were abundant alongside the first part of the trail and almost prolific near the ocean. As it was such a beautiful day, we strolled the beach to the trail end, about another mile, and then came back inland along the fire road instead of traversing the steeper inland trail back. Trail Location: From Bear Valley road, go down Limatour Road about 6.5 miles and turn when you see the Clem Miller Environmental Center sign. The trail head is on the right about a 100 yards after making the turn. See trail map. Plants in bloom: |
