Trail Description:
The Vallejo-Benicia Buffer is part of the Bay Area Ridge trail, a proposed 550 mile trail system that will ring the greater Bay. While it’s mostly open treeless grasslands, the summers can still be cool due to high winds and/or foggy conditions. A variety of flowers (and colorful weeds) are visible throughout the year for the observant. From the ridge tops you can see beautiful views of the bay to the west, Carquinez to the south, and uh.. a quarry to the north. The two major trail heads are from Blue Rock Springs Park of Vallejo, or Rose Drive closer to Benicia.
