Home

Park Description: It is said that Mt. Diablo's view is second only to
Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa for the amount of viewable land. The mountain was first written about with the  Fages-Crespi expedition in 1772 and has been famous in California history ever since.  The park itself  has had a tumultuous history beginning with the first 630 acres in 1921 to it's present 20,000. There are also an additional 70,000 acres under protection around the base.

Brief Directions: The main entries are North Gate from Walnut Creek, South Gate from Danville and Mitchell Canyon Rd. from Clayton.
