CARQUINEZ STRAIT PARK
NEJEDLY STAGING

Trail Description: Franklin Ridge runs off of the Nejedly Staging area in the Eastern most park of the Carquinez Strait Park areas. It's just West of Martinez and accessed is off of Carquinez Scenic Drive west of the Cemetery. From here, all trails lead up. This was our first hike and we were surprised at the steepness of the Hornback trail, but it was shaded and the weather was cool. On top it was mostly open grasslands with few flowers (unless you like star thistles) but the views were outstanding.
